A fan is ready to talk. You're filming, sleeping, or already answering ten other people. Who picks up the conversation — and what do they know about it?
That's the practical reason to hire an OnlyFans chatting agency: a team handles the inbox, follows up with fans, and sells your approved content while you work on the rest of the account. The work includes hiring, shifts and chat review, as well as the messages themselves.
If you're already paying a team, the question changes. You need to know whether a replacement will fix the things frustrating you now. More replies alone won't resolve poor handovers, repetitive pitches or a voice that doesn't sound like you.
What the team does each day
The work starts before anyone sends a message. A useful account brief covers your tone, content library, prices, boundaries and anything that needs your approval. It gives chatters something specific to work from.
Keep conversations moving
Reply to incoming DMs, pick up unfinished conversations and reach out to fans who haven't responded. Mass messages and personalised follow-ups can both play a part, but the team should check recent activity first. Someone who just bought a set doesn't need the same offer again.
Sell with the conversation in mind
A chatter needs to know what's available, what the fan has already bought and whether an offer fits the moment. That includes the message before a PPV, its price and the follow-up afterwards. Custom requests outside the agreed offer need your decision.
Review the work and cover the next shift
At Zinely, human chatters cover the inbox 24/7 across shifts. Someone also has to catch missed follow-ups, repeated questions and overly pushy pitches. Someone also has to cover an absence. Ask who owns those jobs: otherwise you can end up managing the team you hired to save time.
| Chatting team | You or your agency |
|---|---|
| DMs and follow-ups | Voice, boundaries and approved offers |
| PPV sales and fan notes | Content supply and decisions on new requests |
| Shifts and chat review | Marketing, account ownership and oversight |
That's the scope of a chatting service. A broader management arrangement may include more, so compare the actual responsibilities. You can see Zinely's service breakdown here.
A new shift shouldn't restart the relationship
Imagine a fan says they'll be back on Friday. An hour later, a different chatter arrives and pushes another locked message. The second chatter might be working hard, but they're missing the context.
We use our custom CRM to keep fan notes available across shifts: interests, preferences, things to avoid, purchases and follow-up timing. If a fan shares when they get paid, that can help the team choose when to check back. The notes should record what the fan has actually shared.
Record the conversation, what they've already bought, and the agreed follow-up.
Keep the conversation going without restarting the pitch or repeating the same offer.
Retention matters here. A quick sale can look good in a shift report while leaving the fan tired of the account. We want the team to pay attention to repeat purchases and the quality of the relationship as well as today's sales.
Is chatting the problem to solve?
Start with a normal week in your inbox. When do replies slow down? Which conversations get left unfinished? How much of your day goes into the DMs or managing the people answering them?
A team could help when…
Fans arrive while you're offline. Follow-ups get forgotten. Chatting eats into content time. Or your current team needs constant reminders to maintain your voice and boundaries.
Look at the account first when…
Very few new fans arrive, conversations are quiet, or there's little approved content to offer. Chatters need an audience and something relevant to sell; they can't create either from an empty inbox.
For an agency, do that review account by account. One creator may need overnight coverage; another may need cleaner pricing or a better content brief. One roster-wide explanation can hide very different problems.
Ask what the percentage applies to
A quoted rate only tells you half the price. You also need its revenue base: gross earnings or net receipts, all account revenue or just the sales the team closes. Confirm how refunds, discounts and any extra charges are handled.
With a retainer, ask exactly what hours and work the fixed fee covers. With hourly chatters, work out who handles training and supervision. With commission, ask for a worked invoice using your numbers.
At Zinely, the published rate is 16.5–25% of net tips and PPV closed by our chatters. We don't commission subscriptions or renewals. Platform fees still apply. There are no retainers, minimums or lock-in; the applicable rate and terms are agreed before launch.
at an agreed 25% rate$10,000
For your own numbers, use the pricing calculator and rate breakdown. Compare what remains after fees, the time you get back and the quality of the work. A lower percentage by itself doesn't answer those questions.
Five questions worth asking
You don't need a long sales call to start. Ask for specific answers to these, especially if your current team has let you down.
- Who is responsible for my account?
Know your point of contact, who checks the chats, and how you raise a problem.
- What happens when a chatter changes shifts?
Ask how fan notes, unfinished conversations and follow-ups reach the next person. Request an anonymised example of the process.
- What can the team offer without asking me?
Agree prices, discounts, content boundaries and which requests need your approval.
- What will I see in the reporting?
Agree the numbers and updates you'll receive, how often, and how you can review the actual conversations.
- How do we start — and how could we stop?
Confirm account access, the handover time, ownership of notes, notice terms and the way access is removed. Put the arrangement in writing.
Before switching, make sure the incoming team has the voice brief, approved content and useful fan history. Set a clear changeover time so two teams aren't answering the same people.
Our case studies show individual account results with the supporting screenshots. Use them to ask better questions about the work. They aren't a prediction of what your account will earn.
A few more questions
How soon could Zinely start chatting for my account?
Our usual target is within 24 hours of first contact. We confirm the start after reviewing your account, agreeing terms, and preparing the voice brief, content and access. Sending an estimate request does not commit you to a takeover.
Can I switch from my current chatting team?
Yes. Before the handover, agree the changeover time, collect the fan notes and content information you can share, and clarify who handles each shift. Account access and the start date should be confirmed before the new team begins.
Do you work with AI models and agencies too?
Yes. Zinely supports real creators, AI-model operators on Fanvue, and agencies outsourcing chatting for their roster. The account brief and the division of responsibilities are agreed for each setup.
Is an agency worth it for a small account?
Subscriber count alone cannot answer that. Look at incoming conversations, recent purchases, available content and the hours the inbox needs. If very few fans are arriving or responding, generating traffic may be the more useful first step.
